Date: Saturday July 9th & Sunday 10th 2022 Unveil the mystery of Singer Castle …… A part of American history and local folklore meet at Singer Castle on Dark Island, located on the St. Lawrence River. Singer Castle is the only remaining/existing castle on our river to be completed, fully furnished and resided in during the heyday of the great builders and industrials in New York. Calumet and Castle Rest (Pullman) were both completed and lived in. (And both were prior to Towers.) The Castle remained in the possession of the original owners, the Bourne family, from its construction in 1905 until the mid 1960’s. Frederick Bourne was the fifth President of the Singer Sewing Machine Company, which is where the name “Singer Castle” came from. When the Bourne family summered there, it was called “The Towers” which comes from the inspiration that Ernest Flagg, the architect whom designed this structure, had after reading the book Woodstock by Sir Walter Scott. THERE IS NO BETTER WAY TO TRAVEL THAN BY RAIL. The only thing that can make that journey better? Traveling with friends and family! Fill out the RSVP form below to reserve your spot. Your day out on the rails begins at Pennsylvania Station’s Moynihan Train Hall, where you will have unique access to Amtrak’s brand new “Metropolitan Lounge”. From there, you will step back in time as you step aboard a historic car-Tavern-Lounge No. 43. On the journey between New York and Albany, enjoy the one-of-a-kind view of the passing Hudson River. After an intermission at Albany-Rensselaer, our train will skate along the Hudson with the setting sun. Our historic rail car, traveling on the tail end of Amtrak’s Empire Service, will traverse the very tracks that the 20th Century Limited did from 1902 to 1967. Passengers in this lounge class will receive catered sandwiches and sides, served buffet-style in the tavern aboard the 43. This car is BYOB. Passengers will enjoy the breathtaking view through big picture windows as our train skates along the Hudson River. The Tavern Lounge No. 43 harkens back to when travel was a social activity. Passengers traveling long distances could head to the lounge to spend time away from their designated bedrooms or coach seats to relax, drink, and socialize with their fellow travelers. Date: Saturday June 25th, 2022 Time: 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM COST: $175.00 per person Date: Saturday May 14 & Sunday 15 2022
